Chief Technology Officer

Dr Michael Forrester holds a PhD in condensed matter physics, specialising in superconducting arrays, including π junction qubits, quantum information systems, NMR quantum devices, and quantum algorithms. His expertise underpins the development of advanced quantum devices and control methodologies, with a focus on scalable architectures and real world implementation. At QuJiT, he has led the development of the company’s energy aware control stack, advancing practical approaches to stable and scalable quantum technologies.

Dr Michael Forrester is a Chartered Physicist, engineering physicist, and co-founder of QuJiT Ltd, where he serves as Chief Technology Officer. His work spans quantum technologies, RF systems, metamaterials, and advanced materials engineering, with a focus on developing scalable, real-world quantum and electromagnetic systems.

He has led numerous government-funded research programmes, including initiatives with QinetiQ, DASA, and EPSRC, and has delivered over 20 industrial programmes as Technical Lead. His research includes quantum metamaterials, electron quantum optics, RF antenna systems, and neuromorphic computing, alongside extensive experimental and theoretical work in nanotechnology and condensed matter physics.

Dr Forrester previously held senior and principal scientist roles at QinetiQ, where he established advanced manufacturing capabilities for micro and nano devices and contributed to national quantum technology strategy. Earlier in his career, he lectured at Loughborough University in quantum physics, superconductivity, and nanoscience.

He has published more than 35 scientific papers and multiple patents in quantum control systems, metamaterials, and advanced devices.
